The Brief

The Cheers campaign for Cisk was planned to launch at a time where pandemic fatigue was clearly kicking in. It intended to give a glimpse of hope by taking on a positive approach towards what’s ahead.2021 was the year were everyone was missing the simple moments in life. Sharing a “cheers” moment is one of those.

The Work

Visually speaking, the goal was to use familiar brand elements in a new and fresh approach which attracts the eye on both digital and print media.Type treatment on the tagline was reconstructed to mimic the iconic custom Cisk wordmark together with the distinctive label scroll and the brand colours. This was made more apparent in animation on digital mediums.

Cheers Campaign
Cheers

‘Cheers’ means…well, pretty much everything. Hello, goodbye, thank you, but above all it’s the most genuine reaction to a nice cold Cisk.Apart from sharing phonetics, Cisk & Cheers have so much in common that the creative team at BRND WGN took the liberty of blending the two visually.

Social Media

The cheers platform unlocked a lot of possibilities and it would be no surprise if it keeps on evolving in the future. People in the comments sections already jumped onboard and started using it from year 1 – something which isn’t a common feat for a tagline. Great brands know how to engage with their audiences and Cisk is no exception. By simply rolling out versions of digital and print ads in Maltese using colloquial phrases like “Agħmillu Cisk” (EN: Pour him a Cisk) the campaign attracted the right kind of attention from the community.

TV Commercial & Storyboards

This year’s TV commercial revolved around the longing for being somewhere else enjoying a beer after months of social distancing restrictions and lockdowns. A @cisk can metaphorically transport you where you’d rather be without leaving home.
