Passionate scuba-diver safety and research organisation DAN Europe will for three months be cruising in an exclusively branded pick-up across 5 countries: Italy, Malta, France, Spain and Portugal.

The idea emerged after we presented an annual marketing strategy. We highlighted the importance for the organisation to reach out and physically be close to its customers and listening first-hand to the needs of fellow divers.

We then came to the conclusion that a road trip would tick all the above boxes: reaching out to the dive community and enhancing the DAN brand.

So while DAN was meticulously mapping out logistics for its first ever DAN Road Trip, we were busy fine-tuning the communications plan — we came up with a name, offered PR support and designed the artwork for the entire campaign.

Creating a logo is the start of a journey for the brand. It’s the promise you give your audience, and in this case, the promise was to inspire a memorable experience to all those joining the DAN Road Trip this summer

To inspire people, you need to include a human touch — that’s why we opted for hand-written type and sketches.

Since the aim of the campaign was to reach out to the community, we wanted the DAN Road Trip brand to come across as approachable and to engage divers by using the right imagery.

Another important element was the style of imagery used. We wanted to build an atmosphere that evokes a deep connection to summer and a sense of adventure. In fact, the images we chose were very natural and adopted a warm filter to elicit a good feeling about the trip.

Deliverables included branded t-shirts, stickers, A5 handouts and the stickers for the pick-up, which will be the main point of contact with the people.
